Executive Functioning

Stress that is created from having lagging executive function skills impacts our ability to regulate of emotions and reactions.

As we gain executive function skills through scaffolding, our stress level decreases and confidence, esteem and motivation increase.

Scaffolding is when we support a person as they learn a new concept or task by breaking the task down into manageable steps.
-
Emotional Regulation indicates that the person is having a hard time.
-
Behavior is communication for a need that is not being met.
